One down, one to go

with one comment

After doing some heavy thinking, I decided it’s also time to sell my N95-3. I feel like I’ve had it long enough to get what I needed out of it and it’s time for it to find a new home. I’m currently using my girlfriend’s black N73ie. Carrying it around with the N810 still works out to be a pretty good combination for my day-to-day needs, with the only exception being the almost unbearably slow menu speed, but it makes a bit more sense to me than carrying around two GPS equipped devices. I’m amazed at how well the phone cleaned up. There was a lot of dust built up on the slide rails and the phone looks brand spankin’ new with it cleaned out.

I’m also tempted to grab an N95-4 that recently came out, but we’ll see. If you’re interested, the N95-3 is listed on HoFo’s BST. Click the image to get there.

Brief: I bought an iPhone… :(

with 6 comments

(…and it’ll be on eBay before the end of tomorrow. Aside from all the extensive previous experience I had with it, there’s not much else to say about it after using it as a daily workhorse. There won’t be a review or comparison. My SIM card is back in my N95-3 and I’m thinking about swapping that for the N95-4. I’ll hand it to Apple for the presentation of the device and the appeal it has when you start to use it, but practicality and functionality get lost in translation somewhere and don’t outweigh the aesthetics.

Review: Nokia BH-602 Bluetooth Headset

with one comment

Nokia BH-602+N95-3I realize that accessory reviews can sometimes be pretty drawn out and boring, so I’m going to try to keep this one relatively brief. I ordered this headset for myself last week to replace my BH-600 which I had frankly just grown tired of. It worked exceptionally well, but it was never much of anything to look at and the weight of the headset made it hurt my ears after only a couple hours of use. After about a day’s use of the BH-602, I can safely say this is by far the best headset I’ve ever owned, and this will be the 14th headset I’ve used.

Read on for the review and more pictures.

Nokia N810 in the house!

with 2 comments

I meant to post this a couple days ago also, but simply didn’t have time with everything that was going on. My dad bought me an N810 as a belated birthday present and what a present it is! I’ll be doing some mini reviews with the device on different pieces of functionality and my overall experience with it as I get more used to it. I don’t know why, but the N810 overwhelms me much more than the N800 did when I used it back in October (Thanks again, WOM World!).

First impressions and a couple more pictures after the break.

Off-topic: Smash Brothers Brawl

leave a comment »

I’m a little late on this, but I took this shot of the shipment we received on Wednesday. Despite having the ability to snatch one of these and play it early, I didn’t even get a chance to put in in my Wii until last night. So far so good. 🙂

Is Feature Pack 2 really an upgrade?

with 2 comments

I was reading through the list of changes made to Feature Pack 2 from the Guru (who recently posted about Eldar’s extensive first look at it), and I couldn’t help but feel very underwhelmed. I understand that it’s not supposed to revolutionary like the gap between 2nd and 3rd edition for S60, but being used to service pack updates from Microsoft, I thought there would be a bit more than just your typical minor feature changes.

Read ahead for a breakdown of what’s changed and how I feel about said changes.

I take no credit whatsoever for the images in this post. ALL of them belong to mobile-review.com.
